Shakeup Media was founded by Karl Hughes, a web developer, blogger, engineer, and entrepreneur in Knoxville, TN. After managing a personal blog for years and studying web development, he founded the first, and only, student-run news blog at UT. After effectively recruiting and managing over 80 student writers, demand for Karl’s services began to grow and Shakeup Media LLC. was born.
As demand for Shakeup Media’s services has risen over the past year, the team has expanded to include two fellow University of Tennessee graduates, Ana Richters and Andrea Stockard.
Andrea provides social media and marketing support, while Ana has joined the team as a technical web design intern. Shakeup Media also contracts freelance writers and web designers for support as need arises.
